To Coach TG and Q(or any other helpful coaches)

By: The Seeker

I have the most athletic and skilled 6th grade team in the city. I have plenty of size and plenty of strong ball-handlers. I also have the best jumpers and the fastest over-all team speed in the city. It pretty much is a dream team. This is counting AAU teams only and it is in a major city. This is only my second year coaching a team of this level and I want to know what you like about my season plans and what you dislike. The teams we play run 2-3, 3-2, 1-3-1 zones with a bit of man.

I plan to run the loyola-marymount fastbreak system. I plan to play pressure defense most of the game, my bench is deep. I plan to run one continuous motion offense out of a 1-3-1 set. 4 quick hitters out of a 1-4 high set, and 4 quick hitters out of a box set. I have 1 motion delay of game offense. I also have 2 sidelines out of bounds plays and 2 base-line out of bounds plays. I also have a full court trapping press, a half court press, and a press breaker. Will this last me a couple of months, Is this a good season plan, how would you implement these offenses with kids that you just acqired but will have until AAU nationals. I am already a personal trainer and know the techniques for conditioning, and already have books and books of drills for specific fundamentals. Im just trying to make sure that my game plan is reasonable and makes sense to someone other than myself.
